Can certain medications cause a false positive result on a breathalyzer test?

i don't see how Tylenol can affect a Breathalyzer. but if you use mouthwash it certainly can (for example, Listerine is almost 28 per cent alcohol).

i know the alcohol in most cough syrups can cause a person to fail a breathalyzer. i've never heard of it happening with any other sort of medication, but it does seem possible.
