CaCO3 is Calcium carbonate ,the main constituent of chalk,marbles, limestone , snail shells etc. . The main cause of hardwater. This is a white solid ( powder).. On the other hand,CaO is calcium oxide popularly called quicklime or burnt lime this is a white crystalline solid.. If you heat CaCO3 to about 825 degree centigrade, it decomposes to give CaO and gaseous CO2 is also released.. . Hope this is good enough for what u need!
