How does a bail bond guarantee a defendant's presence at court?

It ensures that they appear because they lose their money if they don't. That's why bails are higher for more serious crimes or for people who are more of a flight risk - it gives them more to lose.

Because it ensures the "alleged criminal" shows up. The person who paid for the bail will lose the money if the "alleged" fails to show. And this money is usually in the thousands.. . The "alleged" suggests this person may or may not be guilty...but 90% of the time, I find that they are or else they wouldn't be arrested.

No, he is betting that the person will, like most. These are not murderers! He is actually playing the odds!. . If they skip, he pays the court and then hires people to find the person!

a bail bond means they paid an little bit of the bail and if they don't show up to court then they have to pay the rest of it or go back to jail I doing this right now.
