You could be talking of two different things here. . . Something that is a compromise, is already a solution. It is not exactly what both parties want, but it is a solution that both parties can tolerate and feel is fair to each other's interests.. . Something that has been compromised ... means that it has been taken over, or leaked, infected etc. Information can be compromised - meaning it goes into the wrong hands. etc.
