If this is true, I can see two reasons:. . 1) They are probably, on average, older and therefore have more job experience.. . or. . 2) It is based on old ideas that a man has to totally support his family. Most families, today however, have two working adults.(I think.). . Yes?

Typically married men are older than bachelors, therefore having more time on the job, or in the industry, or more education...etc. Married men don't always make more than bachelors do either, every ones situation is different, that's why statistics can potentially be so deceiving.

A married man has more responsibility then a bachelor. So in the work place bosses tend to look at that and assume they will be able to handle more work. Also a married man is less likely to show up late or call in to parting to hard the night before.. Not all situations are the same and alot of bachelors are more responsible than that. Plus married guys seem to show a more family orientated business..

It could be because employers perceive them as more trustworthy and reliable, and because they are not going to quit their jobs because they have a family to support.
