Do kamikaze pilots wear protective headgear and if so, what is the purpose?

Some do becausae they have radio's built to them for communication. Also it keeps their heads warm, it might also have something to do with the G-Force expierenced

WHAT Kamikaze pilots are left. They were Japanese Pilots in WW2 by most refrence. Actually refering to anyone OTHER then the Japanese by that term is an insult, if you understood what the term meant. They weren't suicide pilots either. They were shot down and knowing they were dead anyways they used their plane as a weapon. Actually some of them survived.

Whay would they wear a helmet? There's no purpose for one. Their goal is to fly right into the plane and blow up. What's the helmet for? To preserve their head?

They do because there could be a radio in it, or it is part of their uniform, or to protect themselves when going to their mission.
