Best answer
because then we'd (the 42% paying attention) would really be pissed. cloneton fudged the books to make it look like we had a surplus after the mexico bailout. bush bought us off with the interest at the beginning of his 1st term & ....we're so screwed.

because they are corrupt. and scared. and worried if we now we'd spend more...and drive inflation, or crash the market...control...control...and more control.
