What are the necessary college courses for a career in interior design?

interior design major classes would be a start. stuff in art, businessm, etc.

Look up a college that actually has that for a major (I suggest my college Bowling Green State University!!) you're better off that way. At least you know the ropes!

Some colleges have interior design majors so you would just take what they tell you to.

Well, if you wish to work indepentdently, business courses are always good. This will help you in catching customers' eyes, no matter what career you choose. For artistic careers, a liberal arts school might do the trick (Grinnell College in Iowa is a good one). I would think some architecture classes would help, you need to know about the structure of things, in order to accurately spot a stud if you need to nail something and what not...

many liberal arts classes, some business, and some math (here and there) also art history and maybe some classes involving physical things such as wood work, ceramics etc. i kno loottss of art classes--but dont worry your advisor will help tell you what you need to take...
