This is an obvious parallel with the common creationist argument "If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" I hope that all of the answerers who are creationists realise their error now.

I hope you're being intentionally stupid; in case you're not - because not all the Europeans left to come to America. (And not all Americans came from Europe - African and Asian heritage are very common.)
