What is the difference between a therapist and a psychologist?

nothing...."shrink" is just a slang term for psychiatrist, or psychologist or any other therapist dealing with mental or emotional issues. it comes from "head shrinker" referring to the fact that therapists discover one's thoughts, then sort and reduce them down to those which may be the cause of one's problems.

Shrink is a slang term used to signify anybody that uses psychology or psychiatry. It's short for head shrinker, which in itself is slang. So, basically no difference.

if the word "therapist" is used to refer to psychological therapist well then it is the same with "shrink"..... therapist can be physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, sex thepapist... etc..
