We have had two wars with Britian, the American Revolution and the War of 1812. The American Revolution had many causes including taxes without corresponding representation in the British Parliament. Also resentment of the Quartering of British soldiers in colonist homes, the Boston Massacre, and the British punishment of Boston for the Boston Tea party. The War of 1812 was fought because the British were kidnapping American sailors off of American ships, and the British provoking Indians to attack Americans.

The fight evolved from taxes...to representation...to....LAND (ours). War history shows us that ALL wars have hidden agendas behind what history claims is the reason for each battle.

Taxes but also the underlying question of what does it mean to be British. The UK left America alone from 1600 until about 1750 when it fought the French and Indian War. At this point the wealth they were recieving from America was less than what was being spent there so they started to tax the colonies even though they had been ignored for so long. The Americans resented this and Ben Franklin even went over to the UK to try and resolve some sort of representation within parliament so that people would feel better about being taxed. Even htough he saw himself as British they saw him as American and laughed him out of London and after that he worked hard to break free from the UK>. . The Revolutionary war and the war of 1812 are very complex and can take up years of research. If you are looking for mroe details tha nyou have recieved, post again.
