What is the difference between a letter of recommendation and a letter of reference?

A letter of recommendation comes from someone with the experience to speak on your performance, i.e. a teacher, former employer, etc.. . A letter of reference simply states the validity of who you are and can be provided by a peer, etc.

A letter of recommendation is a character reference, about the type of person you are. Ex: are your friendly, a team player, good personalily. A letter of reference merely states that u worked for the company for a period of time and u showed up and did what was expected of u.
