Why do people generally prefer having dogs over cats, despite cats being considered more adorable?

dogs - tend to be more active..and more friendly - good with children and teens. Cats, on the other hand..they are more easy to take care of once they're litter trained..they groom themselves often..but they are more like a loner type..they enjoy being alone and they sleep a lot - good for adults with busy life styles.

Dog people fall into categories. . 1. they want obedience that masquerades as love. . 2. they want an animal they can chain up outside and forget, which is sadly how most dogs in America are. Even sadder, America is one of the better spots to be a dog.. . or. . 3. They want a big lively playmate.

I'm a dog person having owned one for the last eight years. My cat never showed me any affection, only turned up when it wanted to be fed and then ran away again. I pick dogs for adorability and companionship anytime

Cats are very independent on their own and that's why most people don't like cats.... They have their own mind and you can't really play with a cat like you can with a dog.... I am a cat lover though cause my cat loves me and follows me throughout the house and comes to me when I call her, but mostly she stays to herself all day...

Cats are more adorable but they have their own minds. They love the house not the owner. You can't teach a cat any tricks.. . On the other hand dogs love the master not the house. Dogs play with people and sometimes save the lives of people from the household. They are also known to watch the house from bad people.
