They don't really taste like chicken. It may be similar, but if cooked right, they taste different. The texture is also different. It is just a common analogy to say they taste like chicken, as it is the closest comparison.

My company paid the bill on the only occasion I ever attempted to eat frog legs. I was on a business trip with a co-worker, and he suggested we try them. I said, "Why not," and we did. These particular frog legs were tough, and they didn't taste like any chicken I've ever had. Based on that experience, I don't recommend them.. . I don't know whether these frog legs tried to jump out of the frying pan, but I wouldn't have been surprised if they did that and walked around some, too. They were that tough.

I've had frog legs in Singapore before and they were like chicken wings. Nothing that special (wings have too little meat for the effort anyway). . . Many people like to show off that they eat this or that - I think that's the main reason.... I've had squid and octopus - both are like rubber (have you seen a squid?).

It is a figure of speech.

Because they want to eat something different than chicken every day

For the same reason people buy things that are more expensive but do the same job: they believe the extra money spent makes them better people. It's an ego thing to try to come across as more important or something equally lame.

i personally would go for the chicken.. i saw my son cooking frog legs one time and they were trying to jump out of the pan.. this is really the truth.. so i do not think i want to eat any...the only reason i guess they would eat it is because they do not eat it very often .. and maybe to say they did...i know i never tried it though

Good question. I've never had them. But I've also heard that taste like. Turkey. I have had Calamari, though. It makes a great sandwich.

Its way cheaper just to walk down to the pond and gig some frogs. Other than drive 15 min into town and buy a $7 chicken.
