How can I change the sound notifications in Outlook Express when receiving emails?

I don't think you can change the sound played unless you know what's the file name of this sound (it will probably be something *.wav in the Outlook folder), you can add a different sound file and rename it to become the same as the Outlook file.. If you want to stop the sound from playing:. Choose Tools from the meny, then choose Options.. . in Preferences tab, choose E-mail Options.... press Advanced E-mail Options.... uncheck the "Play a sound"

Almost the same as what Dr. Surgeon said: go to Control Panel->Sound and Audio Devices, click the Sounds tab. Scroll down to New Mail Notification, select it and select another sound from the Sounds drop-down box, or hit Browse to use a sound in another .wav file.

go to control panel, sounds, new mail notification, and click the arrow under name and click none. hope this helps
