Why do Catholic priests not get married?

Because man is not able to serve 2 gods. If he is focused on his wife he can not devote himself to God and the Church & if he is focused on God and the Church he can't devote himself to his wife.

I'll go to hell if i comment on this question. So I won't.. . But I do think it would be a good thing for the priest to start looking towards a woman and enjoying the love that a woman offers. It's healthy and normal.

it is because all catholics are offered only the choices of getting married orbecoming a priest. unlike protestants who do God's work and marry, catholics priests devote their life for Christ and for the needy

It's the church sexually abusing priests, the church should have no say in an adult man's sex life nor should it be interfering in anybody else's sex life for that matter. It is all sexual abuse and we see the results, sexual abuse of priests results in the priests abusing kids. The Church is corrupt.. . No employer should be telling employees not to have sex, there seems to be a sado-masochistic element to the whole thing of requiring physically healthy males to deny their sexual nature entirely.

According to the catholics, priesthood is considered a call, therefore it deserves total committment to God and by forgoing marriage, a priest will automatically have done away with several responsibilities leaving him with only those associated with service to God through mankind.
