petite in design, women's wrists are generally thinner than men's. plus it befits those who want a stylish yet lightweight piece of jewelry that wont get in the way when performing daily duties.

I would assume because ladies are dantier than men and prefer smaller watches. Although this is true, there will always be a woman that breaks the mold and wants the big watch, I don't see a problem with that. Overall, this is the reason, I think. I hope this helps! :)

I guess because it looks more feminine, & suppose to fit our body frames the best...Well...That doesn't work for me...I'm a thick girl, & I like my big watches...Actually, I'm wearing a men's Guess watch right now...I love it, & wouldn't dare trade it in for some tiny lil' watch...that's just not me...I could also like men's watches b/c I'm a lesbian...I dunno...lol....

Smaller watches on a woman's wrist gives the illusion of being dainty and elegant. Try putting on a big bulky watch on a girl and her arms will look rugged. Other than that, most female wrists are small so male watches will probably fall off easily.
