What were the reasons for your voting decision?

I voted mostly independent because I am surrounded by Democrats and therefore knew my vote wouldn't make a real difference anyway. So I'd rather boost the numbers for somebody I REALLY believed in, rather than the lesser of two evils.

I'm an Independent. I did not vote for any Republicans because they have turned away for the ideals of small government and civil liberties.

I voted based on which candidate I felt would work in the country's best interests, the state's best interests (at the state level) and whose basic beliefs or feelings most closely resemble mine. Of course, after looking at the choices I realized that no one actually met those criteria and I was voting for the lesser of two evils. It was like trying to choose between Gonorrhea and Syphilis.

I vote for the candidate(s) who best reflect my views on a few core issues that I consider the most important to me. I have voted for Republicans & Democrats in the past, as long as I feel that particular person is going to represent me & my views. It is harder to do than it used to be, what with all the negative campaign ads nowadays, but you have to tune those out & do a little research into the candidates' background, and make an informed decision.
