Why do women tend to form groups with other women?

Probably to feel bonded and to relate. Kind of like a gang.

Forming cliques helps people feel like they belong somewhere. If we didnt we would all be living under a rock somewhere. It helps us identify who we are and also help to build our self esteem

Men form cliques too, they just dont call the that. Humans form groups or cliques to make them feel safer, as if they belong to a protective group of like-thinking people. It gives people a sense of belonging. Remember, we are tribal creatures and have been for a few hundred thousand years. It's part of our instinct.
