Learn to let it set in, and just get over it, not by ignoring, but realizing it is inevitable. Once you have mastered this, future dissappointment is not so dissappointing. You will become a better person.

By going into a histrionic rage, kicking at walls, snapping at my co-workers, and letting off some steam with a little free-wheeling road rage during my commute home. There's nothing like incorporating drama and crisis into your world schema to help alleviate the pain of disappointment. Hyuck!

I prefer to prevent it. Disappointment only happens when there is a preconceived notion of some outcome. If you don't already have an idea of what you want to happen, it's never disappointing. Also, as long as you know that there is sense and order in the world, anything that happens will be alright anyway.
