How can I prevent my dog from urinating on my bed as a form of retaliation when left alone? Are there any smells that dogs dislike?

you to the petstore and see if they carry nature's miracle. Its a spray and discourages dogs from peeing in the same place twice.

Lock him/her up while you are gone or get a gate and secure him/her in one room of the house if you are going to be gone for long periods of time. Good luck....

all dogs are pack animals you have to be the alpha maybe a night in his crate with you ignoring him might do the trick if not two nights until he finally gets the message also no treats for bad behavior most times there smarter than we give them credit for remember actions speak louder than words because they don't speak

create training is humane and offers the dog a safe place to be when your gone so he doesn't feel unsafe in your absence. all my great Danes are create trained at night and when i go out. its their "happy place " left open all day when I'm there and they go in and out all day long. never punish them there.

Confine your dog to a smaller space why should he be given run of the house if he pees on your bed. Crate him in the day or put up a baby gate in the kitchen or at least shut all of your bed room doors confining him to the living room dogs have to earn the right to run around the house unsupervised. It will not help to spray anything on your bed to disguise the scent. My toy poodle will still pee in the house if left out if I put her in a crate she is fine. She even peed in my bath tub when I put her in the bathroom for the day, so find what works for your dog and then buy a new matress.
