no they are not but the English had a lot of wars with Holland about 4 ,and anything out of the ordinary was called dutch.And it started around the 16th century.. . going dutch meant the woman pays half of the restaurant bill,dutch uncle was a friend of the family who was like an uncle to the kids ,but he was not a real uncle.. dutch courage was courage ,but it was not real courage because the alcohol helped.. to light a sigarret with another one is called a dutch f*ck. . it had nothing to do with the Dutch people ,but was language used in England only.. the dutch are hardly aware that these frases exist.
