What should I do about a bill I received for non-usage of a credit card that was sent to me for free as a club member?

credit card companies do not just send out cards, regardless if you are a club member or not. They will send out an pre=approved application, which you have to sign and fill in then send back to them.. . This sounds like a scam to me. Investigate the bank that issued the card and if it is bogus, report this to your state attorney general's office.

Send them a letter requesting that the validate the debt. Use the sample letter below.. . Include in the letter your explanation, and demand that they send you a contract or agreement that you signed to get this card. If they don't have it, inform them of your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collections Ace. They are not to contact you, and if they include any information about this on your credit history they can be sued.
