In the initial stages Unani or Ayurvedic medicines work excellent. Hamdard Laboratories in India and Pakistan are manufacturing `SUALIN',`JOSHINA'etc.which are good medicines. If initial stage is neglected, you have to rely on allopathic ENT specialists.

gargle with warm water with a little bit of salt. Give yourself a day or 2, if you're throat is still soar, or you're having trouble swallowing, or if you develop a fever go see a doctor

You probably need to drink more water. It may be from a medicine you're taking. Have you checked what can happen when you take certain medicines? The reason I ask is a friend had a terrible taste in her mouth and it was from a sleeping aid she was taking. I like to chew gum when my mouth is dry which seems to help.

Go to your local grocery store and stock up on ginger ale and juice (something smoother, less citric acid like apple juice) also pick up some Cepacol Lozenges (they contain benzocaine, a local anesthetic that numbs the raw areas of your throat). Drink plenty of fluids and rest, its probably just a short term cold. If it persists, it could be allergies or something more severe like strep. Make sure to see your doctor if it lasts for more than just a few days.

You may have an infection which will require a doctor. But until then make sure you drink lots of water.....take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen for the pain. When I have a bad sore throat I put a thick layer of Vick's vapor rub on my throat and then wrap a thin towel or cloth around it. Leave it as long as you can stand it. By morning it should be gone. Also throat spray is a big help for numbing the pain.
