Why does Windows Media Player display the file name of the currently playing song in the now playing list as soon as a song starts playing?

In the recording, the name of the track is formatted into the code. This works out well if the file is from a legit service like itunes or sonyconnect but if the file was ripped with a generic name it's always going to show up as that name.

Media player shows the song "title" when it starts playing.. When you add a file to now playing list only its name is known to mp. so,it displays the file name.. But when it reads the file to play it displays the title .Because title would be more appropriate than a file name.. TO change the title after you rip. do:. right click on the file. click properties. select the summary tab. change the title field. (if the title field is greyed the file might be readonly)
