How can I set Windows Media Player 9 as the default media player for all file types?

Locking you out of you email is all it should be. You should be able to click the groups page and select My Groups. In My Groups you can select a change of email address there. Without having to sign up again.

Hold your Shift Key and right Click on the File which you want to play with windows MP, then select open with and you will get a Small box which shows the list of Programs. Choose Windows media player and at the botton select the Check box which says, "Use this Programs as Default for this type"

open a folder, like "my computer">tools>folder options>file types. Find the extension of each music file such as WAV, MP3, WMA, etc. Under Opens with, choose change and find Wmedia. Do these for each file type. Click ok and you are done.
