to Trey45:. Muhammad (peace be uopn him) did not invent Islam. He was sent by Allah to preach Islam. Allah is not god of moon. He is the creator of everything. He is the one and only God.

Most people in here will say that the name of Allah come from the moon. I strongly not agree with that, and i believe that Allah s.w.t is just a single name. Only Allah know the meaning. Like (alif laam miin). Most infidel used the connection between Allah and the moon to confuse and to prove that islam is wrong religion. They have no prove at all. They just pick from the books that really hate Islam.

The word is Arabic, it has no plural, and it means the One and Only God. The Arabic word for “a” god is ilah, the plural of which is aleha.. . Allah is one of God’s many names He’s given to Himself. Following is an invocation that God’s messenger Mohammed peace be upon taught the Muslims to recite at the time of sadness and stress:. . “O Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of your female slave . My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me) . Your Judgment upon me is assured and Your Decree concerning me is just . I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with , revealed in Your Book , taught any one of Your creation or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You , to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress. “ . . For those saying that Allah is the name of a pagan moon god, please stop spreading these lies. The moon god was an idol that God’s messenger peace be upon him has destroyed with other idols. The name of the idol was al-lat, and in Arabic it differs completely from the word Allah in both pronunciation and spelling. And by the way, the crescent moon and the star only became "symbols of Islam" at the time of the Ottoman empire, and here's their history: http://islam.about.com/library/weekly/aa060401a.htm. . by the structure of the word, many will argue that it is a derivative from the Word "ELohim" -Jews and Christians God.. or many will says Allah is arabic for God.. Though it is fact that the word "Allah" NOWADAYS are used to substitute "God," but it is NOT always the case.. . The idea of that Allah is a derivative of the Elohim is too farfetched and many historians will back up the idea that it is NOT born from the same root. Plus, it just sound different (EL? AL?). . Majority of Archaeologist agrees that the word "Allah" or the origin of the figure dated far back during Babylonian time.. . The ancient Arabic culture worship 2 deities: . . the male deity (which represented by moon) -in which the word Allah was used for it.. The female deity (represented by sun/star).. . that is also where the symbol for Islam (moon and star) is born. . Muhammad basically took the Moon God (the male one) and made it into a "monotheism.". . So, there you go... Origin of Allah in islam dated back to the Moon God in babylonian time.
