Allah means God in Islam - and in Muslim belief, there were many prophets through which God passed down messages. The most recent of these was Mohammed, in the year 570AD, who is the most famous of the prophets. In Islam, Jesus Christ is also looked upon as a prophet (a little known fact)

If Christians here believe Allah is moon god then they would better start preaching their Arabic speaking Christian brothers since they still use Allah in their bible. . Arabic bible Genesis . http://www.arabicbible.com/bible/ot/gen/1.htm. You can see الله(Allah in Arabic) in the first verse. . See Allah in the first verse of Quran 1st chapter http://www.sacred-texts.com/isl/quran/00101.htm. . see also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_terms_in_Arabic

In Islam?. . A muslim would argue that Allah is the one and only eternal God.. . Some people have argued that Allah is a contraction of the Arabic words for "the god".. . Some have argued that Allah is related to Elah/Elohim in Hebrew.

allah, for some reason is not clearly illustrated to man. he is only referred to by prophet mohammed as the god, yet allah himself hasnt really shown people who he really is, such that people find it a little tough to picture him. . . however in the case of Jesus Christ, God sent him to come down to earth to die for man's sins. at the same time, we are able to picture Jesus Christ as God. we know that God is the one who has come down to earth as a man, who we can easily relate with as a fellow human being

Do you mean- what is the origin of the *word* Allah, or the origin of the actual being?. . 1) If you mean the orgin of the actual being- you are askign what is the origin of GOD? there is not origin of God, God is eternal and absolute.. . 2) If you mean what is the origin of the *word* Allah, then it is NOTT correct to say Muhammad (peace be upon him) inventd it from the moon god. arabic was the common language back then [still is] and if that was what they called god, except with a variation of the word, then the word god will still be god and still be used for God! it was the same language- so common sense tells us that they will not just invent a name for God if it is already commonly used! ALLAH was/is not the same as the moon god but the WORD is the same- as long as it is the same language.. . . questions/ COMMENTS/ or if you want to DISCUSS/DEBATE this topic, email me @ [email protected] =)

It is a made up name for God, by language differances.. God gave us his name as Jehovah. Look at some of the profets names with parts of Jehovah in them.doesn't work with anything else.. Befor the confusion of language at the tower of Bable, all language was hebrew, and Jehovah was common as God's name.
